Free HTML Editor with CSS support

Feature Packed HTML Editor

I must admire the functions of Notepad++. It is one of the best Html Editors available to webmasters and new web developers and coders. The biggest plus point of it is highlighting or to be more precise syntax highlighting. This particular feature gives Notpad++ the power to work with any type of document that is text based. Even though I have tried most text editors, the beauty of it is something very different from those.

Although most of the publishing platforms today offer friendly user interface and simple graphic layouts, sooner or later you will need to get your hands on some code.

Updating or editing the Html or the CSS as your own is the perfect way to get your blog customized, as you always thought of, and to have complete control over the feel and look of your blog. It also enables you to add more functionality such as social bookmarking buttons, advertising and the likes.

Everyone has a feeling that the easiest and perhaps the most efficient way to change the code is by using  a simple text editor like the Windows Notepad.

Notepad++ is as simple as the traditional Notepad, but it comes packed with many useful features, some of them to mention:

  • Syntax Highlighting and Syntax Folding
  • User Defined Syntax Highlighting
  • Auto-completion
  • Multi-Document
  • Regular Expression Search/Replace supported
  • Full Drag and Drop supported
  • Dynamic position of Views
  • File Status Auto-detection
  • Zoom in and zoom out
  • Multi-Language environment supported
  • Bookmark
  • Brace and Indent guideline Highlighting
  • Macro recording and playback
I am sure you must be thinking of giving a try. Why not? You can get it from sourcforge.net, absolutely free of cost!

Note: I'm not an affiliate or official sponsor of Notepad++. I liked the features provided by it and thought of sharing it with all old and new coders. I have the feeling, by doing this I am offering to Notepad++ in return.

Slicing with PhotoShop and HTML CSS Mockup

Step by step instructions to create your own CSS with PhotoShop and ImageReady.

  1. Open your file with photoshop.
  2. Edit the document with Image ready.
  3. Slice your document using the “Slice” tool, this will allow you to define all the different parts of your web page (for example, the header, the menu etc.)
  4. Now your document should contain blue numeroted squares and lines.
  5. Now you need to specify in image ready the ouput parameters. Keyboard shortcut is [ctrl+alt+shift+H].
  6. Now you choose the CSS export (inside the File->Outputsettings menu).
  7. Now you have defined your output options you just have to click on OK. (this will validate your settings but won’t create the file yet).
  8. This is the last step, you need to save the result, using “Save optimized” (inside the File menu).
And now the work is finished, imageready has just created an “images” folder containing all the sliced images and an html/xhtml file which is containing in the source code the css code.

If you wan to see/copy/edit the css source code you just need to open the file in your favorite web browser and display the source code.

It's a good practice to check the web page in 3 different browsers [including IE and FireFox] for browser compatibility.

Access the Storehouse of Information

A friend of mine is a trained hypnotist and through hypnosis therapy she has been helping people not only unlock their past blocks, but also to identify those issues that put roadblocks in their path.

It was quiet amazing to hear that many people during their therapy sessions could remember many such incidents which they had completely forgotten about. Many when read their account would not believe that they had shared those things and have experienced them, until one of their family members shared the same incident with all the other details.

I wondered where these people were getting their information from. Obviously there is part in us that remembers everything. Every word we have read, every scene we have seen, every experience we have had, every feeling we have felt and much more.

Our brain stores all these impressions. It is all there. However, there are not many times during the day that we consciously retrieve this information.

We all have the key to constant inspiration in our hands…or let’s say in our brains. We just need to use this key more often so that it can be readily available at a moments notice when we need it the most.

Meditation practice has helped me to establish and strengthen my connection between the conscious and subconscious. My meditation practice helps my mind to be more open to ideas and allows my brain to have a better access to all the information that has been stored there for lifetime.
